Based: Birkenhead, UK Position: UK Sales Manager   Sales manager recruitment

CARL NORTH is employed as UK Sales Manager by Lankhorst Recycling, a subsidiary of the 200 year old Lankhorst Group. Lankhorst is a business dedicated to the manufacture and sales of recycled plastic products and is strongly allied to environmental issues. Its product range is diverse and interesting, covering everything from alternative street bollards to playground equipment. It is Carl’s job to develop the company’s sales in the UK through direct sales and developing the distributor network. As the recruitment consultancy that placed Carl with Lankhorst, we decided to contact him to see how he was getting on. “ I am very pleased to be working at Lankhorst and the first few months were very enjoyable” he commented. “I am hardly ever in the office and work mainly in the UK. I have had chance to visit the Netherlands and there will be further opportunities to go again in the future”.

Paul Griffiths, Managing Director at Cork Griffiths, handled the recruitment process and Carl had nothing but praise for him. Carl was emphatic that at his age (45) and stage in his career, this was a very important move for him. For Carl, the suitability of the match was vital, both for himself and his new employer. “I am ambitious and it was very important to me to be allowed my independence and the chance to show exactly what I am capable of” he explained. Right from the start he was impressed with Cork Griffiths’ professional approach to recruitment. “I didn’t feel pressurised at all. I really felt that Paul understood what I was looking for and he took time to assess my requirements. He listened to me and absorbed everything I told him.” It would appear that the placement between Carl North and Lankhorst is a harmonious and effective one for both parties and one that Cork Griffiths is proud to be involved with.
