Finance Director recruitment. A role that is more than surface deep
Recruitment Consultancy Cork Griffiths successfully placed Alison Smith in the position of Financial Controller at industrial floor and surface protection business, Ancorite, based in the North West.
Alison was looking for a long-term move to a company where she would have a broader remit and the opportunity to get involved in a variety of commercial roles to complement her financial background. It was important to Alison that this move was right so the credibility of her CV was maintained. Alison had worked with Cork Griffiths in the past and knew they were an independent, smaller business where the directors are personally involved and their attention is guaranteed. “Unlike some of the bigger, target-led, sales hungry recruitment agencies, you know the people at Cork Griffiths are in it for the long term and so they are genuinely interested in matching you with the right employer. This works because I trust them and would go back to them if I ever need to recruit here at Ancorite” explained Alison. “Being ‘sold’ any old job just to get someone’s sales figures up doesn’t appeal to me in the slightest and yet this does go on in most of the bigger companies” she finished. Alison worked with the financial placements team for Cork Griffiths, an area of recruitment they are well known for. After discussing the type of role Alison was looking for, her CV was submitted to Ancorite who took over the recruitment process from that point. She praised Cork Griffiths for supporting her through to the conclusion handling the paperwork and maintaining contact throughout. “I am so happy here and really enjoying it – the people are nice and the job description was 100% accurate, living up to all my expectations” commented Alison. The role is working out well as Alison is getting involved at many different levels as she had hoped for.
After five successful years Alison has since been appointed Finance Director
