Registered Manager – foster care services


£60,000 package including good bonus and car allowance

Our client is a well-established, successful and growing independent provider of social care services, operating across the Midlands and North West regions. Due to the ongoing development of the service in line with their ambitions for growth, they are now looking to find an experienced Registered Manager to run the service, based out of their West Midlands office. The role will be very broad based, reporting to the Operations Director and with dotted line responsibility to the owners.

Key aspects include the following:

  • Operational management of the business, including overseeing the social work team across two offices in the West Midlands and the North West
  • A commitment to high quality service delivery combined with service growth
  • Managing relationships with the carer group of over 40 families
  • Maintaining positive working relationships with local authorities, third parties, etc
  • Ability to identify further opportunities with local authorities
  • Maintaining standards and ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations, company policies and procedures
  • Ability to undertake relevant audits to ensure standards are maintained
  • A good working knowledge of ‘Charms’
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding (the successful candidate will be the designated safeguarding lead for the service).
  • Driving marketing strategies to ensure care recruitment is dynamic and effective
  • Ensuring all services are delivered in accordance with all relevant legislation
  • Operating the service in line with the ‘Secure Base Model’, and continually striving for “Outstanding” in the delivery of their service to children in their care
  • Operate in line with the core values of the organisation
  • Continual liaison with therapists, carers, social workers, support workers, etc
  • Compiling tender documents for local authorities
  • Maintain regular supervisions with the practice manager et al
  • Be willing to take part in occasional carer recruitment events
  • Maintaining a senior ‘on-call’ rota

Key qualities, skills and experience to be successful include the following:

  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager
  • Initiative

  • Natural coaching style and team development focus
  • Commercial and financial awareness
  • Ability to operate and make decisions autonomously, within company guidelines
  • Sales and marketing skills to enable the generation of new ideas for foster carer recruitment
  • Credibility and gravitas
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to operate professionally within a competitive marketplace
  • Willingness to travel regularly between the company’s two sites, (overnight accommodation will be paid)
  • Full driving licence is essential
  • Relevant qualifications including DipSW; CQSW; Degree in Social Work or equivalent
