Our client is one of the most recognised brands in the sport of gymnastics. Having experienced significant growth over the past 10 years they are now planning for the next stage in their development.
To support their ongoing strategy, they are now looking to appoint a Head of Sales to provide both experience, drive and commitment to the further development of the business. As Head of Sales, you will take responsibility for the day to day management of the sales function, overseeing the sales pipeline and the sales team to ensure that the business can achieve its business plan and company objectives. Key to your success will be the development of sales through new and existing channels, creating a comprehensive plan to ensure the businesses meets its strategic goals, turnover and margin targets. You will oversee a team of 4 external highly experienced and dedicated sales executives for whom you will provide leadership, inspiration and motivation. At the same time, you will be able to create an environment that promotes staff commitment to the achievement of the organisation’s vision, mission and strategy. The Head of Sales will work with the various stakeholders of the business including the National Governing Bodies which regulate the sport and will continually look to strengthen these relationships. In order to carry out the role effectively, you will need to be able to attend competitions at the weekend on a regular basis, which will enable you to promote the company’s products to a large audience and at the same time, help to garner relationships with clubs and competitors, which in turn, will drive the future sales pipeline. In the early stages, you will shadow the Managing Director to gain knowledge of the products and the sector, which in turn, will substantially assist you in your drive to achieve the sales targets. The future prospects for the role could involve deputising for the Managing Director and thereafter, offer the potential to progress to his role on his future retirement.
The ideal candidate will be / possess:
Extensive experience in a sales leadership role
Hands on approach
Commitment to developing your team, through coaching and motivational skills
Strong personality, with presence and credibility
A keen interest in gymnastics (possibly having competed in this or another sport)
Ability to develop strong, long lasting relationships
Looking to progress your career to the next level
