This fast growing £15m+ turnover private limited company now require their first qualified accountant to work with the owners and their external advisers in running the accounting function and assisting with future stratgeic planning. The company has grown consistently over the past 10 years and is now a leader in its niche markets. The Financial Controller will manage the accounts department and take in house many of the duties the external accountants have been performing for a number of years. Duties will include:
Supervise the existing accountancy function of sales and purchase ledger for head office and also for a number of subsidiary companies
Maintain the nominal ledger
Ensure monthly bank reconciliations are carried out
Prepare files for quarterly management accounts for the bank
Prepare quarterly VAT returns
Plld monitoring
Implement systems & controls as required
Maintain fixed asset register
Assist in preparation of tenders
Company secretarial matters including insurances
Management account information for FD
Plan, control and finalise stock take around the group
Cash flow management inter group
As a qualified accountant, ideally from within a manufacturing environment, you will be a strong communicator, with good staff management skills and a hands on approach. You will be comfortable working in a small team and be capable of adding immediate value to the business with an ability to “see the bigger picture” and handle a group structure with a number of remote subsidiaries.
